Grid Issues
The development of renewable generation in areas of the country with limited demand and grid capacity, together with an increase in the number of new fossil and nuclear generation projects, means that obtaining access to the grid has become a major issue for project developers.
Lumis has developed considerable expertise in this area, built initially on advising renewable developers in Scotland and now encompassing all forms of generation throughout the UK.
We advise developers on the optimal strategy to pursue for their projects. We provide practical and useful guidance, cutting through the jargon and with an understanding of the pressures on developers from shareholders and financiers.
At an early stage in project development, we advise on the feasibility of grid connection. Moving forward we can advise developers on the right time to make a connection application and handle this process for them. We provide ongoing advice on security requirements & the impact of rule changes, negotiate changes to the grid connection agreement and advise the developer on how to maximise prospects of an early connection.
With our sub-contractors we can now offer a full technical service including grid connection design & system studies.
